Hillary for Iowa — and America
As a Fellow for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in Des Moines, James built tools to help create new insights into the caucus and helped organizers around the state be more effective with their time knocking doors. 30 minutes his final interview, he got a call back and an offer with a catch: he needed to be in Iowa in two days (having never been to the middle of America, with no family for thousands of miles) for three months. This is that story.
Developed mobile apps to be used during the Iowa caucus by volunteers to increase the effectiveness of precinct captains and drive data insights into the caucus process that had never before been accessible to campaigns.
Organized and setup campaign rallies and conversations for Secretary Clinton and surrogates throughout Iowa, and supporting senior staff.
Wrote the campaign's beginners guide on VAN — a universally essential tool for Democrats running for office — for staff, organizers, and volunteers. It can create lists, call campaigns, shifts, track voter outreach efforts, and organize new volunteers.
