Presidential Volunteer Service Award

Volunteer Service Award

president barack obama

An award from the President for Americans who complete one hundred or more hours of service in their communities each year.

Most of this service stemmed from working with Friends of Refugees in Clarkston, Georgia in January 2017 to help resettled refugees to the United States get jobs and look after their children while they were transitioning to life in a new country.

In the fall of 2016, GW launched a student-run food pantry. As a student, James not only uses it as a resource, but also as a place to give back to his peers.

In 2017, James received the bronze award for more than 100 hours of service. His lifetime goal is to complete more than 4,000 hours of service.
